Montpellier is a beautiful town, very famous for its culture and history. The University of Montpellier, the host of the 2016 HPM Conference, is one of the oldest universities in the world, where Joseph D. Gergonne published in the early 19th century one of the oldest mathematical journals. Gergonne’s portrait appears in the logo and the website banner of the Conference.
